I recently visited Solomon's Castle. It is an extraordinary place to see, and Solomon's story is incredible. Well worth a visit, even though (or, especially because) it is located in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, Howard Solomon passed away in 2016, which I only found out when I visited the castle. However, the castle is still open for business, and his wife and daughter and other relatives are running the show.
In any case, this book is very, very light on text and information. I bought it on site at the gift shop. It really needs to be expanded and revised. There is very little information contained within the book, and the photos do not show very many works in progress (such as how the castle was built, etc.) I realize that Peggy Solomon is not a professional author. But, I strongly urge her and her family to work with a professional author to detail Howard's extraordinary life and works of art and construction. That would be a fascinating book. There really is not too much on the internet about Howard Solomon, though if you google him and read what is available, you will learn more than what is contained in this slim volume. The one thing this book does have is some color photos. But it really needed more photos to make it of value. This is a worthwhile souvenir, if you visit the castle. But, it is also disappointing because it is so lacking in information.
